What should define you as a person

Sometime I just want to close my eyes and just run. Runaway from life, drama, tears, fears, heartache, money woes, love, future, just everything.

I just feel so incomplete and not real. Then I keep thinking to myself...should a career really define who I am? I keep telling myself yes.

I dislike where I work, the people at times can drive me crazy. I am overworked and underpaid and its not something I want to do. I keep placing a vision in my head of where I want to be heading with my life, but sometimes its so hard to believe that vision will come to surface.

I am noticing too that because I am unhappy with my work situation it is reflecting in my everyday life scenarios. I hate going out and being social, I just want to be alone, I take things way to seriously, I dwell over the small things, I feel pinned down like I don't have enough time to do anything I want in my life.

I keep thinking to myself, "Well you are 26 and you are now reflecting on your life, and what you truly want?" Is that what it is a mere self reflection on what I want to be true in my life. I want the success, the car, the apartment/ house, to be on my own again.

I am trying to be patient and wait for my season to come and show up. I know its slowly approaching, but this tease is slowly becoming a headache for me that I want to end.

I have to just keep staying positive and focused and faking it till I make it. People see such wonder and awe in me and see I am doing some amazing things. I have to get to that point where I see it too. Its just hard.

And I keep asking myself what should define you as a person?

I'll take a door or a window

My head is racing with so many thoughts.

There are so many things I want to do, but I just need that door to open for me or even a window.
I have to remember that everything comes in time and I just have to be patient. I am just tired of working in retail and know that I am meant to be in the creative world and then own my own business.

I have a degree and its basically just sitting on my desk collecting dust. I know in order to get to my goal I have to take and make steps to achieve it.

I've been putting off for the longest time my vision board. Guess I will be starting it now after this post.

So I made a list of things I've learned today here goes:

1. It's okay to kiss your own ouchies.
2. Do not let the little dumb things stress you out.
3. Breakfast can taste good anytime of the day.
4. People will smile more if you say, "Have a wonderful day," vs, "Have a nice day."
5. Do not force your opinion on others. For you might lose friends that way.
6. Do what you love today and don't push it off till tomorrow.

Apparently weird is the new smart?

So a couple of weeks ago at work this guy who works in the same department as me out of nowhere tells me about a discussion him and another co-worker had. Apparently I came up in the conversation while out drinking at a bar.

He said that the one guy thought I was cool as S##@#, but I was kinda weird. I kept asking him to explain how I was weird. He told me, "Oh you're not weird in a bad way...just weird."

So I told him to give me his top 5 reason as to why I am weird. (I have a tendency to do that, ask people to give me their top 5 reasons for something)

So this is his top 5 reason as to why I am weird:

1. I read tons of book about anything and everything
2. I knit
3. I can define typefaces and give you a brief history on them
4. I want National Geographics the past 100 years on DVD-rom
5. I can give you the number of a color when working in photoshop (ex, white is ffffff)

So, lets get this straight, because I am smart I am considered weird. Wow!

At first I was kind of offended by that, but now I see there is nothing wrong with being classified as weird. How many brilliant people who have walked this earth been classified as weird? I take it as a compliment.

So if anyone tells you that you are a little off and the reasons they give you are because you are smart. Look them in the eye, give them your biggest and brightest smile and say, "Thank you," and walk away.

Plus it doesn't help that these guys were in their early 20s. They have a lot of growing up to do.

Goal for the week...create my vision board.

Wow, I keep going on hiatus with blogging. I really need to keep up with it, but I am just so use to writing in my journal that I forget to post things on here. But I promise I am going to get better. Because I have a feeling in the next couple of months or so I will have many people coming to my blog and reading about me and what I am currently doing in my life.

Right now I am trying to stay positive and focused on what I want out of life. I will admit I keep getting sidetracked and letting things get to me, which I shouldn't because all that seems to do is cause to me go down a spiral of negative thoughts. Which is a big NO NO.

So This week I am setting a goal for myself. I am going to create a vision board so I can look at it and see what I want to bring into my life.

I feel if I see in it in a hardcopy form it will get me on the ball and not doubting. Because when you keep your dreams in your head thats all they stay as... just dreams. But I want I want to manifest my dreams into reality.

I want to be the designer. writer, video production, photographer and many other fun things I have in my possession and just afraid to let out into the world.

So a challenge for everyone this week if you haven't done it already is to create a vision board. There are so many different ways you can create one. It can be all words presented in a colorful and fun fashion, pictures, words and pictures, cut-outs from magazines or all computer based. Its up to you.

snowpocalypse of 2010

Hey folks,

Here in PA there is a TON of snow. My backyard has been swallowed up from all the white fluffy particles that have fallen from the sky. I have a 2 part video that I will post up here. For tonight I will just put the first part, so you all can check out.

I was suppose to go to a show tonight, The Great American Soundtrack and Cheap seats. The show has been reschedule for March. Good thing they are local bands.

I have a show that I was suppose to be attending tomorrow night at The Note in West Chester. Doubt that is going to happen. I feel bad the guys have traveled all the way here from Texas. They are Green River Ordinance (awesome guys!)

See I enjoy seeing bands that haven't blown up yet. They are humble and really down to earth guys. I have had awesome conversations with them and also The Alternate Routes who its always a blast to see with my friend, Tutor Girl.

One day I will be amongst all the artist taking photos and networking. But for now I am starting small. But you watch, people will know my name and me.

Anyway, so Check out the video the suburbs (where I am at) and Philly have basically shut down, no one is suppose to be driving on the roads at all tomorrow. So we shall see what happens, and of course they are talking about another snow storm Monday.

To blog or not to blog

Wow its been over a month since my last blog on here.

I am just so torn with having a personal blog you know. Back in the day I had a blog on xanga and that was a lot of fun. I would blog all the time on there with crazy anecdotes, but that was before people could really google you and find everything they want to about you.

I am just a private person who wants to share herself with the world, but at the same time doesn't.

I will still continue to blog, but it might be on certain topics or whatever, but I will allow you into my world a little *smile*

I need to really start designing again. I feel it at the tips of my fingers but nothing wants to come forth and out or sometimes I scare myself and make myself do other things. Really need to stop that.

What a week

Hey All,

It's been a couple weeks or so since I have written on here. Alot has happen over the past week.

Let's see to give some brief descriptions. Ummm...After 13 years of not really having anything to do with me and after my folks divorced, my father found me on Facebook and wrote to me.

Somehow through lots of confusion, anger and curiosity my brother along with his 2 month old and his girlfriend and myself went to visit with him on Christmas. Very strange let me tell you. And you do not know all the hell that broke loose in my grandmothers house when it was told this was going to happen. I wasn't going to go, but something made me.

I met my half brother for the first time. my brother and sister have had interaction with him when they still went to visitation weekends a few years back. He's 5-years-old and I think he melted my heart a little that night. He looks so much like my brother who is 20 its scary when he was a child. I felt such a strong connection with this little boy.

Nothing was brought up at the visit or anything, but I still have somethings I want to get off my chest. I don't want him to think everything is fine and dandy because there are lots of things I need to get off my chest.

Well I am going to stop right there with the rant. But like I said what an interesting week.

I will be getting back on the blogging bandwagon. I think its time.

Wow its been too long

Wow!

I didn't realize that my last post was the last week in October. Not cool at all.

But I am back. Tired as ever they have me working 7 days straight. Which means the rest of my life is being put on the back burner. I am uber cranky. I can't wait til Friday when I head down to Virginia with Tutor Girl to go to our friends wedding. Least I will get to put my camera to use again.

Least today I got to try to attempt to create something, wasn't all that successful, but it was nice to sit down and just be on my computer. Wish PA had some type of ad agency or something.

I am happy that people are starting to submit to the magazine. Can't wait to put out a deadline for submission for the first issue to come out in January. Least one of my dreams and goals I am making possible.

I am trying to get myself to be on a positive path and just breathe and take care of me I only live once and last time I checked this was my life and no ones else's.

Well, I am going to be posting more and being more active. No more downer Debbie or Negative Nancy.

Good things are coming to those who wait

Been working like crazy at Target. Work 6 days straight off one day then work 5 days straight. Its a killer.

I gotta try to make time for myself or I will go completely mad from work, work, work.

I do have some things brewing around in my head. I had a couple of fellow Alumni's from my college call me up and ask me to try to find them some video work, and what not and I will get a finder's fee. I am all down for marketing. I love doing that.

So I am thinking of taking some online marketing and event planning classes at the local community college around here.

Who knows I could be on my way to my own business.

Still working on the online magazine. Might be ready by January, which should be good. Start off the new year with something fun and positive.

I have so many things I want to go full gear into, but time is an issue.

I am just being patient and seeing what happens.

Right now I am at Barnes and Nobles with Tutor Girl. She is venturing around the store looking for some good reads to purchase and then later hand down to me to read.

For some reason today my heart just feels so heavy. Maybe its because I am sitting adjacent from three guys who are in pre-production to a movie they are working on. That's something I should be doing. I should be a producer working on a movie. I just feel like I have skills that are going to waste.

I am attempting to start my e-zine today. I put the word out there, but still no ones seems to be wanting to participate. It's so hard to get people to do something pro bono. I am just going to leave this up to the heavens and see what will happen.

I just know I am suppose to be doing something with my life, but what it is exactly I have no idea, but I do know its suppose to be something wonderful and makes me smile and wanting to hurry and wake up so I can continue to do it.

I just gotta wait for my season. So once again patient I must be.

Finally a moment to breathe and relax

Its been awhile since I posted on here or have done anything at all on the internet.

Between work and trying to have a mini-social life its been hard.

A recap:

Work is getting better. I just don't let anyone's nonsense phase me. I just think this is all just temporary and better things and amazing people are coming into my life.

Went to two shows saw The Alternate Routes with Will Hoge. Those were the two shows one in Philly and the other in Baltimore. Photos to come soon.

I like hanging out with the, The Alternate Routes they are really great guys and a friendship is forming with them. They always remember me and my friend Tutor Girl.

I've been slacking on creating things. But trying to find some time for myself man is it hard.

Two of my friends just had their little boys back to back.

One girl I work with when I told her I was expecting a nephew and I couldn't wait because he was going to be my little baby to train me on what to expect. She was like, "How old are you?" I told her 26 and she was like, "You don't have any kids? I'm 26 and this is my third one I am expecting. Do you like kids." I told her it just hasn't been written in my stars to have kids at this moment, and left it at that.

I mean I am still young and have time to be tied down with children for the rest of my life. Right now I am trying to find who I am and what I want to do.

This up coming friday I will be going to see Kate Voegle and Green River Ordinance. Its been years since I've gone to shows. My friend Tutor Girl has just got on the show bandwagon and I am all for it.

Babies popping out left and right...

So life is still whizzing by me right now.

So thankful I have a day off tomorrow. I get to hopefully do some designing and reading. I miss doing those things.

This week seems to be the week for many of my friends to be welcoming a new addition their families.

Man, many of my friends are married and already on baby mode. Me... I'll get there eventually. I'll admit I get a little bummed, but then I sit up and realize that is not my path yet in life. Before I have a wonderful family I have to seek out what God has in store for me. I do not want to rush into anything.

When its my season to be in a relationship again, it shall happen. Right now I am enjoying the self-discovery of me period of my life.

Sleepless in my bedroom...

I was very unsuccessful last night at getting a decent nights rest. I tossed and turned all night and woke up at 4:30 a.m. I have work at 8 a.m. maybe I will have energy to push through the whole day.

So many thoughts running through my head. Goals I want to put into motion and other things.

I'm hungry for success...

Making myself a cup of tea to drink before going to bed. I swear I am addicted to drinking tea.

For the past couple of days I've had a lot of time to think. I work 8 hours rarely talking to people and just fixing the aisle or once in awhile helping a customer so it give me a great amount of time to think.

What I have been thinking that right now is the best time to start getting my business I want in order. I want it to be a multimedia company. I keep saying my goal is to have this before I am 30 and right now I am 26. Its just alot has been going on that is making me hungrier than ever to get this started. Unfortunately I can not do it alone. There are a few people who were top of the class and I still keep in contact with that I am going to email and ask if they are with me or not. I want this to be serious and I know its going to take a couple of months to get going, but I am ready for the work and advertising.

No one is going to present me with my dreams all neatly wrapped in a bow, I gotta go out there and take it for myself.

I'm ready!!!

I am leaving it up to God to help me push through the steps I need to make it happen, but I know he is showing me signs to push through and start going for my dream.

So many people started there 6 figure jobs out of their bedrooms, garages or even out their cars.

I'm poor and determined.

Its my birthday! Doing a little dance

Its my birthday today! Won't be able to really celebrate it til the 26th of this month, which is fine with me.

Today on Sept. 13th I shall be working all evening 1-9:30. But least I will be able to catch the 11 repeat of the last episode of True Blood.

So I am not gonna be sad, but just keep going and do what I have to do.

Let the transformation begin

So in a few moments it will be my birthday.

The big 2-6.

I am trying to look at this year as something positive, my chance to go out there and do and be me. I am going to try to shed all my negative thoughts and stop talking about my dreams and actually start doing them.

In these past few days from reading and meeting people and listening to people share their stories has given me the inspiration I need to set my goals in motion.

I want my dreams to become my reality and my reality to be something I love to live.

I am tired of being a broken down girl who feels everything is doomed for me and I shouldn't even start something because it always ends in a battle. Instead I need to be a strong and positive woman who know there are no boundaries or limits in my life and anything can and will be accomplished as long as I put my mind, heart and soul into.

Time needs to slow down

It seems like all of a sudden life is moving in warp speed. I get up and try to do something on my list I want to accomplish and then BAM! the day is done.

My two off days went so fast. I wanted to try to finish a book, which I didn't, but i did get to read a little. I want to design something, got to practice a little but it didn't come out the way I wanted it to.

I was multi-tasking like crazy and nothing was fully complete. I am grateful that I am working, I just have no time to do other things.

Well I get off work today at 7:30 maybe I will get to do some writing this evening.

Yeah two off days!!!

Yes I have two days off!

In those 2 days I hope to be able to journal/blog (digitally and traditional) and get some other things accomplished.

I did start on a scarf a day ago and I am working on it pretty fast on my lunch break and before I fall asleep. I am just doing a simple knit pattern. The other one that is checker board style is going to have to wait so i can put all my attention to it.

Lots of things to do and I learning how to manage my time even better. Time is to precious to waste on silly things.

I promise tomorrow there will be some sort of freebie on here. I have been slacking with those.

made it through the first week of work...

So I've been missing for a moment, but I am back.

Man working at Target has been exhausting but its a job and money.

There are two people there that I adore. One is Russ he was my previous boss back in the day when I was a teen working at Regal Cinema, and the other is Sharon she is sweet as pie and I know we will be good friends. She is someone that you can't help but like.

I work in Electronics and around the store tending to the "guest" (they are not called customers) wishes.

I feel like the place is nice, but I am there to work and come home if I make friends along the way that is nice, but I am here to pay some bills.

Trying to work out some ideas for freelance work. Thinking about advertising to friends (which I kinda did on Facebook) that I can do save the date announcements, programs, flyers, etc.

I have to put my expensive skills I acquired while in school to use and make a profit from it.

Well that is all for now, will update tomorrow.

Gotta get ready to settle down for the evening so I can get up early and go to work again.

Been a little busy with starting my new job at Target. My free day is on Saturday, Yeah! I just gotta make it through my 9-5:30 shift today.

Little kids contain germs...

So I took care of my little brother today. As A result I know caught his cold. I really hate blowing my nose. Went through a box of tissues today.

Still waiting for Target to call me back. I am going to give them til Monday and if they still do not call me back then I am going to call them. That's exactly a week.

So this evening I started reading The Time Traveler's Wife. So far I am enjoying it. I have to wait for my Ipod touch to charge so I can finish up reading it. I love reading books on my ipod. so very convenient.

well I guess that is all my updates for now.

About to enjoy a cup of tea and start journaling in my book. I have so many ideas swimming around in my brain and I don't know where to begin.

I need to put them down and then attempt to manifest them into reality.

My Magazine idea keeps coming back into my mind. I've had this little dream in my heart since I was like 19 and I am about to be 26 in a couple of weeks. I know if I want to get this going its going to take me, myself, and I to get it going. I tried to get people involved with it, and they were all about it, but when it was time to get to business, they backed out.

I need to start working on a novel that I wrote a treatment for and need to get started with it.

I also want to start designing and doing digital media stuff again. I am trying to keep my skills up because they cost me and arm, leg and first born to get.

Also want to get back into blogging again.

I just have a lot of dreams I want to get rolling and sometimes I know I can get ahead of myself. So I need to breath and go slowly with baby steps. Nothing is ever created instantly overnight.

It's not MTV but I'll take it

So I have an interview tomorrow at Target to work overnight shift. Its not exactly MTV (where I interned at and loved), but its money.

Least with working overnight and getting an income flowing I can start my hobby of card-making up and be able to get a little store on Esty like I want to. And I can still keep up my video and design skills.

I just gotta stay positive and hope they will take me aboard and I will wear their trademark red polo shirt and give them 135%.

Because we all gotta start from the bottom, and work our way to the top.

Stop and meditate

For the past couple of days my emotions and mental state have been out of whack.

I have gone several weeks without meditating and staying focused on the positive. Let me tell you this meditation helps. I started back up again last night after having a mini cry-fest and I feel a million times better. It helps channel where you need to be, and focused and where you want to be.

If you think meditation is silly and stupid try it first and then tell me what you think afterwards.

We like in a time that is instant and fast pace. No one has time to disconnect and just breathe. We have to be going somewhere or telling people what we are doing at every moment of the day, but we never take a time out for ourselves. We have to. Even if you are just washing the dishes and focusing on your breathing that is a form of mediation.

We need to stop and think of us for a moment in this busy world.

So yesterday it happened...

I had caffeine and I devoured all of it.

I haven't had a cup of coffee in many, many months. I was doing so good, but now I am craving it and want to hit up a Wawa or Dunkin Donuts or even try to tear up the kitchen and find coffee filters.

I said I was a changed girl its was tea for me and nothing else.

But yesterday while volunteering at the auditions for the indie film I was asked by an attractive fellow if I wanted some coffee, because he was doing a coffee run.

I mean how can I say no.

1. He was cute

2. He was treating (did I mention that I am broke)

You don't turn down drinks when you're at a bar, even if the guy isn't that cute. So what would make this any different, but this...is slowly turning into a craving which might lead to an addiction.

What am I to do? I am gonna try to not cave.

So I am really happy that I am getting back into wanting to blog again. When I was like 18-22 I would blog all the time on xanga. I need to archive my work on there. Sometimes I go back and laugh at some of the crazy mischief my friends and I seem to have gotten ourselves into.

But it seems like when I went back to college after going for journalism to try my hand at digital film. My creativity disappeared. The school I went to seemed to have sucked all the creativity out of me. I no longer wrote stories or created anything. I was just plain miserable. It was an art school and it should have made me more witty and expressive, but nope the complete opposite.

But I will blog another time about that school.

But not that I am 8 months out of college, my creativity is slowly coming back and I am being patient, not going to rush the creative stew that is brewing within me.

But I see the sign that my creativeness is coming back.

Here are the signs:

1. Can't sleep my mind is always going

2. Journaling more

3. reading more

4. kinda happier

5. Want to create things.

So we shall see what happens.

Felt nice to be in a familiar place

Today I got to help with a casting call for a new indie movie that is going to start up soon.

It was very nice to be in that type of environment again.

I really need to get out there and start networking more. I love being and working in the entertainment world I guess you would call, or even the design world.

Need to start working on my portfolio again and get it up on a web server.

Sometimes the world frustrates me

I get so annoyed sometimes with how life is going for me right now.

1. Graduated from College in December and still looking for a decent job, where people will not try to walk all over me, and willing to pay me.

2. Hate that its time to pay back student loans and I have no way to.

3. I don't drive and depend on others to help me out when public transportation just won't do.

I am trying to stay calm, cool and collective through all this but it is sometimes hard. I have to remember I am not the only one going through this. Everyone has their time to shine.

Hello All,

I've had this site for several months now and didn't know what to really do with it beside post freebies and layouts I create.

But I have now decided to make this more formal and share my thoughts and creations on here. I use to blog back in the day constantly on Xanga, but everyone I knew who was apart of that community left. So I stopped, but now I want to get in the swing of things and hopefully help others to get creative in the process.

Bows I created

Hello,

Here are some bows I created and binder clip photo/invitation holders.

For the binders I used scrap pieces of paper left over from other projects to wrap around the bottom of the binder, then dressed them up with bows and elements. I got the idea from www.scraptime.ca I subscribed on Itunes to her videos. They are very good a must see.

Hello All,

I have been a digital scrapbooker for about 6 months on and off now.
I am starting to really get into the Digital world of scrapbooking, since I am now a college graduate and not bogged down with senior projects.
